Late Work Policy

I do take late work but with caveats. Here's why: The point of having your videos or readings done BEFORE CLASS is so that we can discuss them. Thus the class DEPENDS on the bulk of the students having done the work BEFORE CLASS so we can work with the material IN class.

That said, shit happens. You get behind, you get sick, the world collapses and freaks you out. So you can upload late work (which is one of the reasons I don't put due dates on stuff), but I won't comment on it beyond a "late" comment and I will take points 2 points off for each week it's late. So an assignment more than 5 weeks late is worth NO POINTS.

FOR THE PEOPLE WHO SAVE ALL THE WORK TILL THE END: I don't care how sad your story is. I don't want to hear it. I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted from all the sad stories these past few years, only some of which are true. If you life is such that you can't come to class and/or do your homework, then you should drop the class and re-evaluate your short term goals.... NOT expect Peg to allow you do do all the work the last one or two weeks of the semester. How is that fair to the people that did do the work on time? How is it fair to Peg? And, and this is the most important consideration, how is that real education? It's not. And Real Education is Peg's job, so don't ask her to help you disrespect her vocation.

IF you get so far behind your work isn't worth much anymore, you should drop the course. I get you all have struggles and challenges. I do too. But I don't get to not do my work, and still get paid. You don't get to not do the work and still get a grade. It's not fair to the students who did the work.
