Introduction to Teaching with Canvas
(Self-enrollable)

Welcome!

This is a basic introduction to Canvas for faculty who are new to using Canvas.

The course will help you learn how to do four basic things in Canvas no matter what format you're teaching in:

  • Maintain a current syllabus
  • Maintain an up-to-date gradebook
  • Communicate with students
  • Provide instructional materials that are accessible to students with disabilities

A note about deliverables

This is a fully remote, asynchronous Course Design resource.  It is not facilitated.  Assignments and Quizzes are not received, and Discussions are not moderated. Additionally, Discussion posts and replies in this course can be viewed by all self-enrolled individuals.

All that said, we very much hope you'll reach out to CAFE any time. Let us help you connect with other faculty and staff who are doing great work.  If you want feedback on anything, or more resources, we're glad to provide that too.

See the Syllabus for more information.

We'll start by completing some pre-course administration and exploring an orientation module. Select the "Get Started!" button:
